T-RISE: Mariupol State University joins a new international project
Mariupol State University has become an associated partner in T-RISE – Transforming Regional Innovation Ecosystems for Sustainable and Digitally Enabled Entrepreneurship, a new international project funded under the EIT Higher Education Initiative.
Selected as one of 35 winning projects from 138 competitive proposals, T-RISE brings together universities, businesses, public authorities, and civil society organizations to strengthen regional innovation ecosystems and foster sustainable and digitally enabled entrepreneurship. At the heart of the project is the ambition to create an environment where universities serve as catalysts for innovation, economic development, and societal transformation.
This project brings together an exceptional partnership. The consortium is coordinated by the University of Alicante and includes universities with which MSU has already built a strong track record of successful collaboration — the University of Primorska, Vytautas Magnus University, the University of Silesia, and Saarland University; leading academic players in the
European Research Area — Jean Monnet University and the Catholic University of Portugal; as well as renowned innovation organizations and companies, including META Group, Alicante Science Park, and Vizzuality. Together, they combine the strengths of academia, industry, and innovation organisations, creating an ecosystem that accelerates the development and implementation of innovative solutions.
Participation in T-RISE naturally extends MSU's international development trajectory, reinforcing its portfolio of European projects while opening new opportunities for students, researchers, and academic staff. The project will further strengthen international cooperation, foster entrepreneurial competences, promote an innovation-driven culture, and enhance knowledge transfer across partner institutions.
Among T-RISE's flagship initiatives is the establishment of the Transform4Europe Joint Innovation Office, which will coordinate innovation activities, entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer across the Alliance. For Mariupol State University, this is a natural continuation of its active engagement within Transform4Europe: MSU representatives are already contributing to the work of the Alliance's Joint Grant Office, supporting the development of international projects and strengthening the grant capacity of partner universities.
T-RISE once again demonstrates the strength of Transform4Europe as an alliance where partnerships evolve into ambitious collaborative projects, and collaborative projects create new opportunities for universities, students, researchers, and regions across Europe.
