MSU Launches Professional Development Programme on Preparing Project and Grant Proposals for EU Funding
On 10 August 2026, Mariupol State University held the introductory online session marking the launch of the professional development programme “Preparing Project and Grant Proposals for European Union Funding.” The programme has been jointly developed by New York College (Greece) & Mariupol State University within the framework of the international GREENPREP-UA project.
A total of 23 academic and administrative staff members registered for the programme, with 15 participants attending the opening session. During the event, participants were introduced to the course structure, learning modules, training methodology, and expected learning outcomes.
The programme will run from 10 August to 1 October 2026, combining facilitated online workshops with structured independent learning. It is designed to strengthen participants’ practical competences in preparing competitive proposals for Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe, including identifying suitable funding opportunities, analysing call documentation, designing project logic, developing Concept Notes, planning project implementation, and responsibly applying artificial intelligence tools throughout the proposal development process.
The main outcome of the programme will be an individual Concept Note for a future international project. Following completion of the learning materials and participation in a joint online session with colleagues from New York College (Greece), each participant will prepare a Concept Note aligned with a relevant European funding opportunity. This project concept will serve as the final assessment and the principal evidence of successful completion of the professional development programme.
The implementation of this programme represents another important step in Mariupol University’s efforts to strengthen its project culture, expand international cooperation, and enhance the capacity of its academic community to participate in European research and education initiatives. The University remains committed to engaging an increasing number of academic and administrative staff in international project activities, participation in European consortia, and the development of competitive international project proposals.
