Humanitarian aid

"To do good is not a science, it is an action," said French writer and public figure - Romain Rolland.

Therefore, immediately after relocating to Kyiv, we started to act and created a Humanitarian Center for the people of Mariupol. Students, teachers, our graduates, and good friends joined its activities as volunteers. The Humanitarian Center is aimed to help both MSU students and teachers, as well as Mariupol residents who have become displaced people due to military aggression and are currently in the capital of Ukraine.

Volunteers collected information about people's needs, formed and distributed humanitarian kits. Reliable partners joined our initiative: charitable foundations: "Roads of Life", "Volunteer Movement", "Food Protection Center", "Let's help", "Emerland", "Do it together" humanitarian initiative of Metinvest Group "Saving Lives". Charity organizations: "Rinat Akhmetov Foundation", "Volunteering and Protection Center", "LifeLine Ukraine", International Fund "Revival", international charity organization "Hope and Homes for Children", non-profit organization from the USA "Nova Ukraine", Carollyne Lairie and S.O.S. Ukraine, volunteer center "Pechersk" / charity fund "Svitly", software development company "Developex", Indian goods store "Ufistore", TV presenter and journalist Victoria Havryushova, Public organizations "All Ukraine"/ NGO "All Ukraine", "Antey-Plus".

During this time, Center volunteers have helped almost 40,000 residents of the heroic city of Mariupol, including children and pensioners, people affected by enemy shelling, and those who survived captivity.

In the first days, the head Center received up to 200 requests for assistance from Mariupol residents daily. People received humanitarian aid: clothing, food packages, food for babies, household cleaning supplies and personal hygiene products, toys, dishes, blankets, pillows, linen, towels, and stationery. In addition to the humanitarian mission, the Center helped Mariupol residents to find a job. The volunteers of the Center searched for job vacancies in Kyiv and offered them to the displaced residents of Mariupol.

In the result of the cooperation between Humanitarian Center of MSU and the non-governmental Norwegian humanitarian organization Norwegian Refugee Council, 187 residents of Mariupol received legal advice.

At present the Center is focusing on targeted assistance for each request from Mariupol residents because every case matters.

Humanitarian Center finishes its activities and is transforming into a Civic Center. The Civic Center is a community hub for the city. We understand that our help is important and meaningful and we know exactly how we can be useful to the community.

In the new Civic Center, you will be able to receive psychological support, legal advice, learn a foreign language, gain professional skills, and get a work in the job market.
