Civic Center of Mariupol State University
For many years, the prevailing opinion in society was that the University has two missions: to educate and to research. However, modern higher education institutions are not limited to educational and scientific activities and understanding the role of the University in the development of the community in which they are located, they highlight a third social mission. This is about social responsibility, contribution to the development of the region, implementation of projects for the benefit of the community and at the request of the community.
Within the framework of the strategic sessions of Mariupol State University, which took place in May 2023, many ideas were created based on priority strategic directions. The participants of the sessions held discussions about MSU: what it represents to the public today and what stages it has gone through, what historical changes it has undergone in the vision of development strategy, why is it unique and what are the aims if the University.
The idea of creating our own Civic Center was born during those strategic sessions within the framework of the third mission of our University. We know how we can be useful to the community, as we have many specialists with a unique set of competencies, world experience, and modern knowledge.
The Civic Center is a place for education and leisure, a place to acquire new skills and exchange experiences, a place for assistance and inspiration.
Learning a foreign language or understanding modern IT technologies, receiving psychological support or legal advice, continuing education at the age of 50+ or encouraging children to learn. At the Civic Center, everyone will find something for yourself that will be useful and provide a start for new opportunities.
Here you will find not only new knowledge, but also new acquaintances and communication.
