Spending summer with benefit: MSU community study language and culture of Poland

Among the recent events, which the community of Mariupol State University has joined, is the Summer School of the Polish Language from the University of Silesia in Katowice.

Three students visited Poland to participate in Summer School. Vladyslava Deliman, Khrystyna Sabadash, Maria Kovtunenko took advantage of the opportunity to go on an educational trip. The other six teachers and students were trained online. These are assistant professors Iryna Desnova, Olena Blashkova, Maryna Gorbashevska, Viktoriya Matsuka, students Zoya Kravets and Andriy Rosynskyi.

The school's program included language, culture, and Polish history classes, sightseeing tours, plus visits to concerts and museums.

The MSU community started learning the language from scratch. Thanks to the interactive and friendly approach to learning and the similarity to Ukrainian, the course participants managed to master Polish at a basic level. Immersion in the language environment also contributed to this, because lectures and discussions were held in Polish. To continue improving knowledge this time independently, at the end of the course, teachers and students were presented with textbooks.

For those who joined the summer school online, the cultural program was adapted to virtual tours. However, others were able to see important historical places with their own eyes and feel the special atmosphere of the European country.

Every day, the youth spent evenings with games, quests, watching movies and singing. The program also included a week of traditions and culture, during which summer school participants from around the world represented their countries.
