Addressing development of labor mobility: MSU has joined a new international project
Mariupol State University has become a participant of a new European project aimed at developing fair and protected labor migration.
The initiative is called "TRAM4DW: Transnational Advisory Network on Decent Work for Migrants" and is co-facilitated by the Erasmus+KA2 program. It aims to ensure development of innovations, international partnerships and implementation of systemic changes in the fields of education, science, employment and social policy.
Labor migration, temporary contracts on employment, frequent migration and unequal working conditions are often accompanied by discrimination, stigmatization and violation of labor rights. It is overcoming these challenges that the project team will focus on over the next three years.
The TRAM4DW consortium includes national tandems of leading institutions from Ukraine, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Bulgaria. Along with Mariupol University, these include Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, Complutense University of Madrid, Institute for Population and Human Research of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgarian Red Cross, Spanish NGO ACCESOphia, German NGO Arbeit und Leben. The initiative is coordinated by Hamburg University of Applied Sciences.
MSU's partner in Ukraine is The All-Ukrainian Association of International Employment Companies. Cooperation combines the research potential of the university's specialists and the practical experience of experts working in the field of international employment.
Together, the project teams will develop efficient mechanisms for protection of workers' rights, create consulting hubs and tools, develop training programs and train specialists capable of operating efficiently in the realities of labor mobility. This format of cooperation is strategic and useful for Ukraine, demonstrating a new level of interaction between the academic community and the labor market.
