MSU joined the conference of ALDA members
On October 17 an important meeting of the ALDA network, of which Mariupol State University is a member, took place in Kyiv. The event brought together high-ranking diplomats, experts from the public and academic sectors to discuss strategies for Ukraine's recovery and prepare proposals for the annual international conference on the Ukraine's post-war rebuiding, which will be held in Rome in June 2025.
The conference was attended by the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, the Ambassadors of Italy and Austria, and representatives of international organizations. The meetings with the diplomats were aimed at strengthening international cooperation and identifying new perspectives on the development of local government, university and civic initiatives. Ambassador of Italy Carlo Formosa emphasized the importance of further supporting projects in Ukraine in this area, including ALDA projects. Austrian Ambassador Arad Benkö also expressed his readiness to expand cooperation with Ukrainian communities.
During the meeting, the importance of the participation of MSU and other higher education institutions in the processes of sustainable development and modernization of Ukraine was once again emphasized, which will contribute to the active involvement of communities in the processes of decentralization and local self-government development.
Mariupol State University was represented at the event by Iryna Sikorska, Head of the Center for International Education. During the working sessions of the conference, the participants shared their experience and best practices in developing democratic initiatives and building active citizenship in Ukraine.
