Lectures to students and discussions with researchers: The MSU lecturer visited five European countries
Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Mariupol State University, Serhiy Pakhomenko undertook a second educational and scientific trip abroad in May-June. After successfully passing the selection process, the Invincible University lecturer was invited as a scholarship holder of the Aleksanteri Institute of the University of Helsinki (Finland).
During the previous internship, Serhiy Pakhomenko gave lectures to students, communicated with fellow researchers and worked on the future English-language textbook "Historical Narratives in Propaganda". This time, however, the teacher's educational and scientific journey was not limited to one country - Finland. He also visited Lithuania, Norway, Latvia and Sweden.
At the invitation of the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Diplomacy of Vytautas Magnus University, MSU Ambassador to Lithuania Aistė Žemaitytė, the MSU associate professor gave a public lecture for students of various disciplines studying political science.
The next lecture was held at the House of Literature in Oslo. Serhiy Pakhomenko was invited by the Ukrainian community in Norway at the initiative of Svitlana Arabadzha, Associate Professor at the Department of History and Archaeology of Mariupol State University, a scholar who conducts research at the University of Oslo, to give a lecture and take part in the discussion.
The lecturer took the opportunity to visit the University of Latvia, where he gave live lectures for the first time in his two years as a visiting associate professor. Serhiy Pakhomenko had previously communicated with students online despite power cuts. The MSU educator also met with colleagues with whom he is implementing another research project that will help create a new urban space in Riga.
Subsequently, the associate professor joined a conference in Sweden. In addition to his speech, Serhiy Pakhomenko had the opportunity to listen to a public lecture by the famous modern Ukrainian historian, professor at Harvard University, Serhiy Plokhiy, and also to talk to him.
