Associate Professor of Mariupol State University received a scholarship to write a textbook in English

As an invited scholar at the University of Helsinki (Finland), Serhii Pakhomenko, an associate professor in the Political Science and International Relations Department at Mariupol University, had the opportunity to work on a research project and deliver scientific seminars.

Following his scientific interests, Serhii Pakhomenko will undergo an internship at the Aleksanteri Institute, a center for the study of russia, Eastern Europe, and Eurasia. Here, the MSU associate professor will work on writing the English-language textbook "Historical Narratives in Propaganda." The book will be based on lecture courses developed by the teacher for students at the University of Latvia and Mariupol State University.

During his first working trip to Helsinki in February-March, Serhii Pakhomenko conducted two scientific seminars on the theme of the upcoming book and another one entitled "Politics of Memory in Ukraine: Challenges of Decolonization." Additionally, the associate professor of Mariupol University advised colleagues from the Aleksanteri Institute on the preparation of Ukrainian studies courses and participated in seminars with other fellows.
