The President of Lithuania honors the Rector of MSU with a state award

The Rector of Mariupol State University, Mykola Trofymenko, has been honored with a prestigious award from the Republic of Lithuania - the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit for Lithuania.

On February 16, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda solemnly presented the award to the head of the Invincible University on the Day of the Restoration of the Lithuanian State.

Today we are rewarding those citizens who contribute to the prosperity and well-being of our country, its growth and the development of international relations. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all those who support the common undertakings of Lithuania and create much-needed unity in the face of many challenges,

– said Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda.

The government of the Baltic state honored Mykola Trofymenko for his contribution to strengthening academic relations between Lithuania and Ukraine, promoting democratic values.

Thanks to the rector of Mariupol State University, after a temporary relocation, the invincible university significantly expanded its cooperation with Vytautas Magnus University. Educational institutions have become good friends and strategic partners, contributing to international education and science development. 

The opening of the Mariupol University Center based on the Vytautas Magnus University was an important event for both parties, which initiated activities to unite the Lithuanian and Ukrainian communities.
