MSU starts partnerships with Austrian universities
In the context of the internationalization of education and the integration of Ukraine into Europe, the development of international relations plays a central role in the activities of Mariupol State University. The Director of the Centre for International Education, Iryna Sikorska, took part in the seminar on the development of new partnerships between Austrian and Ukrainian universities in order to fulfil an important task.
The event took place on 12 and 13 June in Vienna and brought together around 80 participants, among them were representatives from embassies, ministries, and educational institutions of the two friendly countries. The Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization organized the event together with the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research of the Republic of Austria, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine.
The seminar program included the definition of priorities and directions of Ukrainian-Austrian cooperation in the fields of education and science. The representatives of both countries discussed common ideas within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the importance of collaboration with businesses for research and development of innovations, as well as support for university communities during martial law and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Iryna Sikorska, a member of the National Team of Experts on Reforming Higher Education, delivered a report on the state of education during the war and on current changes in legislation to the international community. During the sessions for partnership initiation, the educator presented Mariupol University with a similar profile to Austrian educational institutions.
