DigiUni: MSU educators studied Spanish experience of forming a digital educational environment

From June 3 to 6, the Mariupol State University community took part in training sessions for the project "Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative" (DigiUni). This time, the educators went to Spain to learn about creating a digital educational environment from their colleagues at the University of Alicante.

The MSU team included the head of the information activity department, Vyacheslav Kudlay, the head of the applied philology department, Olena Pedchenko, professor of the marketing and tourism department, Andriy Stoyka, leading specialist of the technical department Dmytro Tomas, and leading specialist of the of information and public relations department, Natalia Stoyka.

As part of the internship, project participants attended events where they learned about the basics of intellectual property, its licensing, and the latest practices in digital transformations and achievements. The tour of the campus of the University of Alicante, and especially the library, where hundreds of students work and take tests in various disciplines every day, and the museum – an open space for artists, aroused the enthusiasm of Ukrainian educators.

Visiting sightseeing allowed participants to understand better the vibrant life and history of the city, as well as to strengthen professional ties. A visit to the local market and the Santa Barbara Castle caused quite a stir in the MSU community.

The week was extremely useful for understanding current trends. We learned more about the organization of the educational process, the combination of digital technologies with traditional ones, and the extensive digitalization of educational institutions using technologies, namely, artificial intelligence. All this will help us in further work on the DigiUni project,

–  says the leading specialist of MSU, Dmytro Tomas.
