Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module: “European Union Economic Security Studies (EUES)”

Project Number: 101175872
Funding Agency: European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA)
Project Coordinator: Mariupol State University (Ukraine)
Project Duration: 3 years

Project Objective

The project aims to promote the values and experience of the European Union in developing an effective economic security framework, thereby supporting Ukraine’s European integration and contributing to the post-war recovery of its national economy.

By exploring the EU’s best practices in designing economic security strategies and adapting European approaches to the development of relevant policy instruments, the project will help create the conditions necessary for Ukraine’s effective post-war reconstruction and the implementation of its European integration agenda.

The project will also strengthen cooperation among key stakeholders—including students, researchers, businesses, government institutions, and civil society—who share responsibility for ensuring the country’s sustainable, secure, and resilient development.

Project Objectives

  • Introduce the new academic course “European Union Economic Security Studies (EUES)” to provide students with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of economic security by promoting knowledge of the EU’s economic security framework, its multi-level structure, and the instruments used to safeguard European interests.
  • Explore and disseminate best practices from EU Member States in the development and implementation of effective security strategies that incorporate a strong economic dimension.
  • Strengthen the research capacity of young scholars by encouraging the identification of effective tools for ensuring a high level of economic security based on European values and standards.
  • Foster partnership initiatives and promote dialogue with the public to advance European values in the context of protecting the interests of individuals, regions, and the country as a whole.
  • Contribute to Ukraine’s integration into the European security framework and help create the conditions for the country’s rapid post-war economic recovery.
