Founder of UK–Ukraine Twinning Initiative Becomes an Ambassador of Mariupol University
On May 26, Mariupol State University (MSU) welcomed a member of its Supervisory Board, founder and head of Cormack Consultancy Group (CCG), Charles Cormack. He was accompanied by the Ukrainian team of the Twinning project.
For his significant contribution to supporting Mariupol State University, promoting its values, strengthening international cooperation, and enhancing its positive image in Ukraine and abroad, the University Academic Council awarded Charles Cormack the honorary title of Ambassador. The CCG company also received a distinction.
In 2022, during the full-scale war, the British entrepreneur launched the Twinning project to support Ukrainian universities by fostering cooperation with higher education institutions in the United Kingdom. Through this initiative, Mariupol State University strengthened its partnership with the University of Hull, which has now become a strategic partner.
Sharing a common goal of promoting English language learning, Charles Cormack also facilitated the provision of a licensed educational platform for the MSU community. In Ukraine, the project became known as English4Ukraine. In just nine months, more than 42,000 Ukrainians have joined the platform, including school and university students, educators, servicemen, internally displaced persons, civil servants, and lawyers.
During the official ceremony of presenting the ambassadorial attributes, Rector of the resilient university, Mykola Trofymenko, expressed gratitude to the partner for his support and meaningful contribution, and shared the hope that the symbolic bird of Mariupol State University would bring success to CCG and its leader.
You were one of the first to respond to our call for help. You initiated an important program, and we are proud to be partners in such significant international projects. I hope we will continue our cooperation, and that the symbol of Mariupol State University we present today will bring good fortune to CCG.
