Training of Trainers Launches within the DigiUni Project

Starting on 1 February 2026, a large-scale stage of academic staff development begins within the framework of the international Erasmus+ DigiUni consortium (The Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative). The project is entering an intensive phase of training trainers who will coordinate the creation of innovative educational content for the DigiPlatform digital platform.

More than 600 trainers for the digital transformation of Ukrainian partner universities — leveraging the best international and Ukrainian experience.

The training programme has a multi-level structure and covers various categories of professionals, ranging from trainer-facilitators and content developers to course administrators and quality assurance experts.

The ultimate goal is to form a strong community of more than 600 certified participants who will train their colleagues, create, administer, and evaluate the quality of educational courses for DigiPlatform in accordance with European standards. We are launching a new stage of the project — the training of academic staff at Ukrainian partner universities. Well-prepared teams of specialists will become the architects of a new quality of higher education in Ukraine,

noted Olena Chaikovska, Vice President of the Ukrainian Association of Information Technology Professionals (UAITP).

Stages of the Training of Trainers

Marina Tolmach, Member of the UAITP Committee on IT in Education, presented a detailed training schedule:

  • 1–22 February — asynchronous stage: independent completion of 7 specialised modules on the University of Alicante (Spain) platform;
  • 23 February – 8 March — synchronous sessions: real-time intensive sessions, skills verification, and a final participant survey;
  • 15 March – 30 April — scaling the experience: conducting internal training sessions at Ukrainian partner universities (around 60 specialists from each higher education institution).

Technical Expertise and Innovative Solutions

A separate focus within the project is placed on the technical component. Yurii Zuban, Director of the E-Learning Technologies Centre at Sumy State University, announced the launch of parallel training tracks:

  • Technical design — development of unified requirements for content placement and structuring on DigiPlatform.
  • Innovative tools — consultations on integrating artificial intelligence capabilities and VR technologies into the educational process.

A Step Towards a Unified Digital Ecosystem of Higher Education

The implementation of this academic staff training stage will enable Ukrainian universities to form strong teams of educational content developers and ensure high-quality content for DigiPlatform. This will become a key step in building an open digital ecosystem of Ukrainian higher education integrated into the European educational space.
